Spring Semester Is Here... Let's Discuss
Well, readers, the 166 Hughes Hoes are back and better than ever. After a restful and relaxing winter break in which a record-breaking blizzard tore through Buffalo and snowed everyone in their childhood homes for a week. It's safe to say we were ready to be back together after a long time away!
The semester has started out swimmingly for the hoes. Mackenzie and Lanie, two roommates who have worked so hard the last four years in STEM classes and labs, finally have an easier schedule this semester: more time to party! Mackenzie and Julia probably see each other too much, considering the fact that they have three of their four classes together. Annie, although a senior, somehow managed to have to take an introductory finite math class... she's powering through. Sam has some weird night classes with weird people (I don't know how she does it) and Hannah is about to get a job! Pray for her and her knee.
It's safe to say the hoes are cruising through this semester. We've had some low moments (blacking out at Coles, Julia not knowing how to use a Keurig, unfavorable skiing conditions, a man doing Treya dirty, a man doing Mackenzie dirty, AND a man doing Sam dirty). But we've had so many more highs, that the semester has been a blast and a half so far (ladies nights, dates being gone on, multiple drunk Jim's Steakout runs, Renaissance Art class, 100 Days party, the characters we get to see on a daily basis, and lots of fun happenings to gossip about--- because let's face it, gossiping is fun!).
One notable night was our Valentine's Day party. More people showed up than expected, especially given that we switched our tradition and had it on a Saturday instead of a Friday! A few new friends appeared, but mostly familiar faces littered our house, and it was a blast. Julia slays on aux as usual, so the guests were singing and dancing until 3 a.m. Pat Healy brought beans and corn (?), David (boyfriend of Annie) made an appearance and seemed to truly enjoy socializing with college students, Caitlin had an early night after day-drinking earlier in the day (understandable), Sam learned multiple things against her will, Julia did cheer kicks in the front yard with the SAS gang, Hannah was asleep on the couch at one point, and Mackenzie and Treya split a Four Loko! But the best part, as usual, was being with all of our friends dancing and singing. Definitely gave us all a much-needed dose of dopamine!
In honor of hitting week five of the semester, here's a collection of some photos to show you all what we've been up to! We hope you are all having an awesome start the semester. Of course, more shenanigans to come :)
This was worth the wait. Thank you.
