The Hoes Conquered SantaCon 2022!!!

Buffalonians all know and love SantaCon. What's not to love? Dressing in Christmas clothes and getting violently drunk while bar-hopping on Chippewa is a great day to spend a Saturday!

Well, we did it, and not only did we just do it, but we slayed all the while. Six of the nine roomies took on this feat (Treya, Annie, and Bri were all dearly missed), and we can say now that we've experienced it, it was definitely something! Here's a brief recap of our day, pictures and videos included. Enjoy!

We started out the day with a nice pregame at noon. It was post-USA loss to Netherlands in the World Cup, but we managed to rally despite our defeat. #ChristianPulisicMarryUs

You know the day was going to go successfully when Lanie and Mackenzie were already very drunk before leaving the house. They were our good luck charms of the day. Got a few other cute pictures too.

We made our way to the subway, and boy was it cold (and raining!). We had some random men take our picture while waiting for the subway, so sweet of them. Mike (Hannah's boyfriend) Zach (middle school BFF of Hannah, Julia, and Annie), and Maddie (high school BFF of Sam) also made it out. We love them!

BE REAL!

When we got downtown, we checked in at the Banshee Irish Pub and got our wristbands and some free swag. Had a drink at the pub and realized...wait... do we love it here? No wonder our Irish friends (the lads) go there so often. The vibes were through the roof! Lots of Christmas music and a fine atmosphere with books and dancing. And of course, lots of funny jokes made that had us belly laughing. There's nothing like sitting in a pub with the gals. Long live the Irish!

But alas, we had to get our money's worth and move along. We went to Soho, and other than their rooftop bar, nothing notable happened besides continuing to get very, very, very, very drunk.

Chugging along, we made a pit stop at The Cowboy partially for old times sake and partially because we wanted to down some cheap drinks. Sam was maybe going to throw up, but she held it in. It was dead in there, I guess no Santacon-ers wanted to smell the sewage smells and listen to Blake Shelton!

When we finally got to Rec Room, we were greeted by a large screen playing the Argentina-Australia World Cup game-- what a treat! It was packed, wall-to-wall people (just how we like it -_-). But they were playing good music (actually, all of the bars were playing good music, is a Santacon a slay for its music? We say yes) and we were having a blast. Hannah was starting to lose her footing and Lanie pulled out her personalized, Canisius College flask. President Stoute would be proud!

Hannah and Julia serving looks while the other went to Venu!

The last stretch of this day was, to be frank, quite a blur for us! We went to Venu, Bottoms Up and 67 West all in the span of hour. We lost each other for a bit, and then luckily found each other. Had to plant in Bottoms while Zach (and company) finished his fishbowl... man those things are huge! (Pictured below)

We went to the back patio of 67 West to find Mackenzie on an elevated surface with her family friends! At this point, Hannah and Mike left to go to a meat raffle at her old high school (more on that later), and Caitlin and Lanie got scooped by none other than roomie Treya and Tino!

It was time for the rest of us to go unfortunately. But before that, we had to make a pit stop at Spot Coffee for a bathroom break. Kenz also got a bagel that she said, "saved her life." She really loved that bagel!

When we got home, things really took a turn for the worse. We all took naps and did nothing, not really knowing what we were doing, what time it was, and frankly what was happening. When asked about how everyone was doing, the roomies had a few choice words...

It's safe to say that we are all doing okay now (except maybe Hannah). Shoutout to all of our besties who made Santacon 2022 for the 166 Hughes Hoes a blast and a half and a day to remember! Merry Christmas and Go Griffs!
